Fourteen years ago, my mom taught me to cross-stitch. I was 26 when I learned this consuming hobby. Well, Eowyn expressed an interest in learning to stitch and I jumped on it. We ordered a bunch of "kids kits" from my favourite stitching site 123stitch.com, and we started the night they arrived. She has really taken to it, and seems to enjoy it.
She is still learning some of the nuances, but the piece she is working on is for a friend and has all the basic elements - full stitches, half-stitches, and back stitching. She is struggling with tucking in her threads before and after she starts a colour, but we are dealing with it. I'm happy that she is enjoying it - it's something we can do together.
